Extension Center Student Guidelines

A Place Where Faith Meets Flexibility

Welcome to Mobile Bible School (MBS). These guidelines are designed to help maintain a Christ-centered, orderly, respectful, and effective learning environment in all MBS Extension Centers.

MBS Extension Centers may operate in churches, ministry facilities, rented venues, community rooms, homes, or other approved learning spaces. Wherever classes are held, students are expected to uphold Christian character, academic responsibility, and proper stewardship.

“Let all things be done decently and in order.”
— 1 Corinthians 14:40 (KJV)

I. Student Conduct

1. Christian Character

Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner worthy of their Christian testimony, showing respect, honesty, humility, kindness, and love toward fellow students, instructors, church leaders, and staff.

2. Respect for Others

Students shall treat all individuals with courtesy and respect regardless of denomination, nationality, culture, educational background, or ministry experience.

3. Integrity

Cheating, plagiarism, falsification of records, or any form of academic dishonesty is not allowed.

4. Appropriate Behavior

Disruptive behavior, abusive language, harassment, bullying, discrimination, or any conduct that negatively affects the learning environment is prohibited.

II. Attendance and Participation

1. Attendance

Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes, seminars, workshops, and Extension Center activities.

2. Absence Notification

Students who cannot attend a class should inform their instructor, local coordinator, or Extension Center Director as early as possible.

3. Make-Up Requirements

Students who miss a class may be required to complete alternative assignments such as reflection papers, reading requirements, ministry reports, recorded lectures, or other academic activities assigned by the instructor.

4. Consecutive Absences

Three (3) consecutive unexcused absences may result in the student being classified as inactive until reviewed by the Extension Center Director and MBS Administration.

5. Excessive Absences

Students who miss more than twenty-five percent (25%) of scheduled sessions may be required to complete additional requirements before receiving course completion credit.

6. Participation

Active participation in discussions, activities, ministry exercises, and assignments is encouraged and may form part of the student’s evaluation.

III. Academic Expectations

1. Learning Responsibility

Students are responsible for completing all assigned readings, projects, quizzes, reflection papers, and ministry requirements.

2. Assignment Submission

Assignments should be submitted within the timeline given by the instructor or Extension Center Director.

3. Academic Excellence

Students are encouraged to pursue excellence in biblical knowledge, theological understanding, and ministry application.

4. Self-Paced Learning Support

Where applicable, face-to-face students may supplement classroom learning through MBS online modules, recorded lectures, textbooks, and AI-assisted learning resources.

IV. Dress and Appearance

1. Modesty and Respect

Students should dress modestly, appropriately, and respectfully during classes, ministry activities, and official MBS events.

2. Ministry Events

Students participating in preaching, presentations, ceremonies, or official ministry functions should dress in a manner consistent with Christian leadership and professionalism.

V. Use of Facilities

1. Stewardship

Students are expected to care for all classrooms, equipment, furniture, books, and other resources used by the Extension Center.

2. Cleanliness

Students should help maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming learning environment.

3. Safety

All students must comply with safety procedures established by the host church, ministry facility, school, rented venue, or training location.

4. Clean As You Go (CLAYGO) Policy

Students are expected to practice good stewardship of all facilities used by Mobile Bible School Extension Centers, whether classes are conducted in churches, ministry facilities, private homes, rented venues, community centers, schools, or rooms provided free of charge.

Every student shares the responsibility of maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment. Before leaving the venue, students should:

  • Properly dispose of all trash and personal waste.
  • Return chairs, tables, and equipment to their proper places.
  • Keep classrooms, restrooms, and common areas clean and organized.
  • Respect the property and facilities of the host church, ministry, organization, or venue owner.
  • Leave the facility in the same or better condition than it was found.

Extension Centers are encouraged to promote the “Clean As You Go” principle as part of Christian stewardship, servant leadership, and personal responsibility.

Any damage to property or repeated neglect of cleanliness standards may be subject to review by the Extension Center Director or Local Coordinator.

“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
— 1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV)

VI. Disciplinary Process

The purpose of discipline is restoration, growth, and accountability, not mere punishment.

Disciplinary review may be initiated for:

  • Repeated misconduct
  • Academic dishonesty
  • Persistent disruption of classes
  • Serious violations of Christian ethics
  • Conduct damaging to the testimony of MBS, the host church, or the Extension Center

Possible actions may include:

  • Verbal counseling
  • Written warning
  • Additional assignments
  • Temporary suspension
  • Inactive student status
  • Removal from the program in severe cases

All disciplinary matters shall be handled prayerfully, fairly, respectfully, and in coordination with the Extension Center Director and MBS Administration.

VII. Student Commitment

By enrolling in an MBS Extension Center, students agree to:

  • Pursue spiritual growth and biblical learning.
  • Respect instructors, fellow students, church leaders, and staff.
  • Participate faithfully in learning activities.
  • Complete assigned academic requirements.
  • Uphold Christian character inside and outside the classroom.
  • Practice proper stewardship of facilities and resources.
  • Support the mission of making disciples and equipping servant leaders.

VIII. Grace and Flexibility

Mobile Bible School recognizes that many students balance ministry, employment, family responsibilities, and community service. Therefore, reasonable consideration may be given in cases involving:

  • Illness
  • Family emergencies
  • Ministry assignments
  • Employment obligations
  • Other legitimate circumstances

MBS seeks to balance grace, accountability, flexibility, and excellence in theological education.

IX. Purpose of These Guidelines

These guidelines are not intended to burden students but to help them grow in discipline, responsibility, biblical understanding, Christian character, and ministry readiness.

The goal of every MBS Extension Center is to provide a learning environment where students can grow in faith, truth, service, and leadership.

Understanding the MBS Face-to-Face GPA System

At Mobile Bible School (MBS), academic excellence is measured not only through examinations but also through attendance, participation, ministry involvement, character, and overall commitment to learning. Our Face-to-Face GPA System provides a balanced evaluation of both academic achievement and Christian leadership development.

This grading framework reflects our commitment to holistic theological education—equipping students with biblical knowledge, practical ministry skills, Christian character, and a spirit of faithful service.

We encourage every student to strive for excellence in both academics and ministry as they prepare to serve God and others effectively.

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” — Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
