I. Purpose and Scope
The Master of Ministry (M.Min.) Honoris Causa is an esteemed honorary recognition granted by Mobile Bible School (MBS) to exceptional Christian leaders who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to ministry, theological education, and kingdom-building efforts.
This honorary degree is awarded not as an academic credential but as a distinguished recognition of sustained excellence in Christian leadership, pastoral care, biblical scholarship, and evangelistic initiatives. The Founding President, Dr. Rhoderick De Vera (Doctor of Ministry Emeritus, Master of Ministry Emeritus), has exclusive authority to approve and confer this honorary degree.
II. Qualifications for Conferment
A nominee for the M.Min. Honoris Causa must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Spiritual and Ministerial Leadership
- A proven and sustained commitment to Christian ministry, including at least 15 years in pastoral leadership, Christian education, missionary work, or other areas of ministry.
- A significant reputation as a spiritual leader, mentor, or theological educator with measurable impact on local and global Christian communities.
Significant Contribution to Christian Ministry
- Founding, directing, or supporting ministries (churches, Bible schools, outreach programs) that have had enduring influence.
- Authorship of significant theological, pastoral, or biblical publications that advance Christian knowledge and ministry.
- Involvement in notable missions, evangelism, or humanitarian initiatives that have led to measurable kingdom impact.
Moral and Doctrinal Integrity
- A life exemplified by integrity, godliness, and biblical alignment, consistent with the doctrinal positions of MBS.
- A public testimony of sound moral character, Christian ethics, and dedication to Christ-centered living.
Recognition by the Christian Community
- Nominee must have earned the respect and recognition of at least two recognized Christian leaders (e.g., pastors, church founders, ministry leaders).
- Must have achieved regional, national, or international recognition for extraordinary service to the body of Christ.
III. Ethical Standards in Honorary Conferment
To uphold the credibility and honor of MBS, the following ethical principles must be observed:
- The M.Min. Honoris Causa is conferred solely based on merit, spiritual leadership, and contribution to Christian ministry. It is not to be awarded in exchange for financial support, political influence, or personal connections.
- The degree must be used ethically and respectfully, not misrepresented as an academic qualification.
- Recipients of the honorary degree must use the title with integrity and in alignment with biblical values.
IV. Sole Approval Authority
Nomination & Recommendation
- Candidates may be nominated by MBS faculty, Christian organizations, or recognized church leaders.
- Nominations must be accompanied by a formal letter of recommendation, a biography, a ministry history, and documentation of the nominee’s achievements.
Evaluation & Screening
- Dr. Rhoderick De Vera, the Founding President of MBS, will personally review each nomination.
- Background checks and verifications will be conducted to ensure the nominee’s qualifications meet MBS standards.
Final Approval
- Dr. Rhoderick De Vera holds the exclusive authority to approve and confer the M.Min. Honoris Causa without requiring board approval.
Conferral Ceremony
- The honorary degree will be officially conferred at a designated recognition event or graduation ceremony at MBS.
- Recipients will be presented with a certificate, citation, and appropriate recognition of their invaluable contribution to the kingdom of God.
V. Implementation and Review
This policy shall be effective immediately and will remain in force under the sole discretion of Dr. Rhoderick De Vera, Founding President of Mobile Bible School.
