The Importance of a Statement of Faith
A Statement of Faith serves as the theological foundation of any Christian institution, defining its core beliefs and ensuring doctrinal clarity. At Mobile Bible School (MBS), we believe that a clear and biblically grounded statement of faith is essential for fostering spiritual growth, maintaining doctrinal integrity, and equipping believers for effective ministry.
In a world of shifting beliefs and theological diversity, a well-defined Statement of Faith provides:
Scriptural Standard – Establishes a firm foundation of biblical truth as the ultimate authority.
Sound Structure – Provides a clear framework for doctrinal unity and theological integrity.
Spiritual Strength – Deepens faith, fosters growth, and equips believers for ministry.
Safeguard Against Straying – Protects from false teachings and doctrinal compromise.
Shared Stewardship – Unites believers in a common mission to glorify God and serve His Kingdom.
Our core beliefs rest on two major doctrinal pillars:
- The Trinity – One God in Three Distinct Persons
At MBS, we uphold the historic Christian doctrine of the Trinity—one God who exists in three distinct persons:
God the Father – The Creator and Sustainer of all things.
God the Son (Jesus Christ) – The Savior who took on human flesh, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, and rose again.
God the Holy Spirit – The One who regenerates, indwells, empowers, and sanctifies believers.
This doctrine affirms that while the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct persons, they share the same divine essence and are co-equal, co-eternal, and fully God.
- The Five Solas – The Heart of Our Faith
We at MBS also stand firmly on the Five Solas, the foundational truths of the Protestant Reformation. These principles emphasize that salvation is entirely the work of God, apart from human effort:
Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone) – The Bible is the ultimate and final authority in matters of faith and practice, above traditions or human teachings.
Sola Fide (Faith Alone) – Justification comes through faith alone in Jesus Christ, not by human works or religious rituals.
Sola Gratia (Grace Alone) – Salvation is a gift from God, given by grace alone, not something earned or deserved.
Solus Christus (Christ Alone) – Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and humanity; salvation is found in Him alone.
Soli Deo Gloria (To the Glory of God Alone) – Everything, including salvation, is ultimately for God’s glory alone—not for the recognition of men or religious institutions.
Our Mission: Equipping Without Division
At MBS, we provide biblically sound theological education that equips students with a firm foundation in Christian faith while maintaining an inclusive, non-denominational perspective. We welcome learners from diverse church backgrounds, celebrating unity within the body of Christ.
We believe that truth unites, not divides—which is why we foster an environment of love, power, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7), guided by the Spirit of God.
Join us as we learn, grow, and serve for the glory of God alone!
